Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Starlight AI Inc. builds intake software for Ontario law firms, so how we handle personal information is the product, not an afterthought. This page explains plainly what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
1. Who we are
Starlight AI Inc. ("Starlight", "we") is a company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can reach our privacy contact at avash@starlightaiinc.com or 647-809-7077.
2. This website collects almost nothing
We use no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers on starlightaiinc.com. Visiting this site does not create a profile of you, and nothing you do here is shared with advertisers.
The only information we collect is what you type into the contact form and choose to send:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Whatever you write in the message field
Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use those logs to identify or market to you.
3. What we do with it
We use what you send us to reply to you and, if you're exploring Starlight for your firm, to follow up about it. That's all. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we stop.
4. Who else can see it
A small number of service providers process this information on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes above:
- Netlify — hosts this website and stores contact form submissions
- Google Workspace — our business email, where your message lands
These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, which means that data can be subject to the laws of those countries. We choose providers that offer appropriate contractual safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for as long as needed to answer you and to maintain ordinary business records, and then we delete them. You can ask us to delete your message sooner — just email us and we will.
6. If you called a law firm that uses Starlight
When you call a law firm that uses our AI intake service, the law firm is the organization collecting your information, and Starlight processes it on that firm's behalf and under its instructions. Your intake details go to that firm so a lawyer can call you back.
If you gave express consent to be contacted by text, we record that consent — including the audio of the exchange, a transcript, and a timestamp — so the firm can prove it was given, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires. Consent records are retained for six years, which is the CASL record-keeping period. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any text, or by contacting the firm or us.
To access or correct the intake information held about you, contact the law firm you called. If you're not sure who that is, email us and we'll help you find them.
7. Your rights under PIPEDA
Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and to withdraw consent. Email avash@starlightaiinc.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
8. Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and information you send is encrypted in transit. Access to contact form submissions and intake records is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for the sensitivity of what we handle.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly swapped in.
