This policy covers this website, starlightaiinc.com. It is deliberately short, because this site does very little.
ATLAS has its own privacy policy. If you are looking for how the ATLAS app handles your financial information, that is a separate document at atlas.starlightaiinc.com/privacy. Nothing on this page describes the app.
Who we are
Starlight AI Inc., a company incorporated in Canada, with its place of business in Toronto, Ontario. You can reach us at avash@starlightaiinc.com.
What this site collects
One thing, and only if you choose to give it to us:
- Your email address, when you submit the sign-up form, along with the fact that you ticked the consent box and the date you did so.
There is no account to create, no tracking pixel, no advertising network, and no analytics product running on this page.
Why we collect it
To email you when we release something. That is the entire purpose. We do not use your address for anything else, and we do not sell, rent, or share it.
Consent, and taking it back
We ask for your express consent before adding you, and the box is never pre-ticked. That is a requirement of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation and it is also just the right way to do it.
Every email we send will contain a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect without you needing to explain yourself. You can also write to avash@starlightaiinc.com at any time and ask to be removed, and we will do it and confirm.
Where it is stored
This site is hosted by Netlify, a United States company, and form submissions are stored on Netlify's infrastructure in the United States. If you would rather not have your email address stored outside Canada, please do not use the form. Write to us instead and we will note your interest by reply.
Netlify also keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, as any web host does.
Third parties this page loads
The page loads two open-source animation libraries from public content delivery networks, cdnjs and jsDelivr. Those networks can see your IP address and browser information because your browser requests the files directly from them. They receive nothing else, and we send them nothing about you.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we stop sending release announcements altogether, whichever comes first. When you unsubscribe we remove your address rather than marking it inactive, apart from the minimum record needed to make sure we do not accidentally email you again.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to avash@starlightaiinc.com and we will respond within thirty days, usually much sooner.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the change is described on this page rather than quietly swapped in.
